Galton Voysey Plants 300,000 Trees in Their Efforts to Help Preserve Nature
December 22, 2020
HONG KONG — Galton Voysey, the leading developer direct-to-consumer brands based in Hong Kong has announced today that it, together with its fully owned brands and customers, has planted 300,000 trees in a concerted effort to preserve, protect and restore nature.
In many parts of the world, woodlands and forests have provided rich environments for flora, fauna and communities to thrive, both from a protective standpoint and a nurturing one. However, in this day and age many woodlands have been decimated in favor of deforestation, with trees being cut down to make way for industry, development, farming and more. Often carried out with good intentions, such as a desire to raise living standards, many eco-systems simply cannot continue to subsist after the shock to their natural environment and thus such activity can decimate vibrant ecological communities. In turn, this can lead to unexpected and damaging outcomes such as desertification, erosion, flooding and more.
To reverse these outcomes and try to prevent them recurring, Galton Voysey has chosen to make as wide of a global impact as possible by planting trees in places such as Europe, North America, Africa and Australia as part of ongoing local reforestation initiatives, and plans on extending this reach even further in the future. The hope is this will bring much needed relief to areas where the woodlands are being restored, including health and wellbeing benefits to the surrounding communities and families for many years to come.
This marks the latest in Galton Voysey’s initiatives to give back in the difficult year that has been 2020. Earlier this year, the company donated 50,000 masks to the most vulnerable workers exposed to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as 30,000 meals to families and children in need in an effort to fight against hunger exacerbated by the current situation. The company continues to search for ways to give back, both locally and on a global scale, and looks forward to launching those initiatives in the new year.
